Refugees Journey Book Review:

Seeking control over Burma, the British Empire went to war with the Burmese Empire in 1824. Two more wars followed. By 1885, Burma was under British control. It became a British colony in 1937.
Burma gained independence from Britain in 1948, and the military ruled the country. Ethnic groups battled each other for power and civil war began. Elections were held, but the military would not let a government be formed or take power. In 1989, the military changed the name of the country from Burma to Myanmar. In 2015, a new government came to power. Today, the government is not stable, and the military still has great power.
Imagine living in a country where fear is normal. You fear government soldiers, the police, and maybe even your next door neighbor. You might be scared of being attacked if you leave your home. That is what life is like for some people in Myanmar.

Review Taj Mahal Book:

Taj Mahal . a Story of Love and Empire is a story of taj mahal history by Elizabeth Mann, This sad and romantic tale is as well-known as the Taj Mahal itself. It has been repeated for centuries by people all over the world. But the story of the Taj Mahal is larger, wilder, and more complicated. It begins in the tiny kingdom of Ferghana in the mountains of Central Asia. There, in 1483, a warlord was tending his pigeons in their roost that sat high on the wall of his fortress. Suddenly the ancient wall crumbled, and the roost toppled down. The pigeons escaped to freedom; the warlord fell to his death. His son Babur, just 11 years old, became the ruler of Ferghana. Rival warlords planned their attacks. An army led by a child seemed an easy conquest, but Babur was not an ordinary child. Babur was descended from two of the greatest conquerors the world had ever known, the Mongol tribal leader Chinghis Khan and the Muslim Turk Timur. In the 1200s, Chinghis Khan and his horsemen built an empire that stretched from the Pacific Ocean across Asia to Europe, and south to the Indus River in Hindustan (India). In the 1300s, Timur conquered most of Central Asia, then went on to plunder northern Hindustan.

Review of Compact Houses:

Compact Houses is a compact book on Architecture written by Gerald Rowan, The designs in the book are not intended to be final plans. Even if you fall in love with one particular design shown here, you’ll want to tweak it to make it work for your site, living needs, and aesthetic, and you should work with a builder, architect, or construction engineer to arrive at a working building plan. The designs are roughly organized first by the number of floors (single-story homes followed by two-story ones) and then the square footage, from smaller to larger. Each design notes the square footage of the home, the number of bedrooms, the number and size of bathrooms, and any unique features, such as a fireplace or an open living plan. Feel free to mix and match elements, incorporating those you like into whatever turns out to be your dream-home design. Kitchens and bathrooms are particularly interchangeable. And don’t feel limited to using these designs just for new homes; many of the ideas suggested here can be incorporated into existing houses (see chapter 4 for more on that topic).
