Singing Exercises

These exercises are written to familiarise the pupil with the notes so as to avoid giving him two difficulties to overcome at once^the length and pitch of notes; they should therefore be practised exclusively whilst the first chapters of Rudiments are being studied. When the pupil can pitch the notes easily he should be exercised in beating the measures of two, three or four pulses, counting these beats instead of naming or sol-faing the notes. For this exercise strict evenness in the duration of the beats must be observed/1* This first task accomplished with care will ensure great facility for all that follows; it is, besides, for teachers or mothers of families who commence young children in this essential part of the art to direct them according to their youthful intelligence.

An Entire MBA in 1 Course by Chris Haroun

The contents of this book are all based on my work experience at several firms, including Goldman Sachs, the consulting industry at Accenture, a few companies I have started, the hedge fund industry where I worked at Citadel and most recently based on my experience at a prominent San Francisco based venture
capital firm. I also included helpful practical business concepts I learned while I did an MBA at Columbia University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree at McGill University. Think of this book as a “greatest hits” business summary from my MBA, undergraduate business degree, work experience in consulting, equities, hedge funds, venture capital and starting my own companies.

Chris is currently a venture capitalist at a prominent San Francisco Bay Area venture capital firm and has previous work experience at Goldman Sachs and several firms that he has founded. He has successfully raised and also has managed over $1bn in his business/finance career. He has an MBA in Finance from Columbia…

Common Mistakes in English With Exercises

This book has been designed to meet the requirements of students whose mother tongue is not English, Its main purpose is to help to correct the common mistakes to which foreign learners of English are liable. The method adopted throughout this work is uniform. All the errors dealt with are singled out, for they have to be recognised before they can be corrected: then correct forms are substituted for incorrect ones; finally, simple explanations are given wherever necessary to justify particular usages. Exercises are set al the end to ensure that the principles may become firmly fixed in the students' minds. It is no! claimed that this manual is exhaustive. Nevertheless, the difficulties tackled are real, and the examples arc representative of the mistakes commonly made by foreign students of English, being the result of observations made over a long period of time. Much care has been given to the preparation of the Index, which it ?s hoped will make the book a useful work ol reference.

Using Quickbooks Accountant 2014 Glenn Owen

The first course in accounting has evolved significantly over the last several
years. Educators are responding to the demand of accounting and nonaccounting
faculty who rely on this course to lay a foundation for other courses. Moreover,
the accounting profession relies on this course to attract the ‘‘best and the
brightest’’ to become accounting majors. The evolution of this course has also
put pressure on instructors to integrate computers into the classroom and, in so
doing, develop students’ skills in intelligently using and interpreting accounting
Faculty often want to incorporate computerized accounting into the first
course but are reluctant to invest the time and effort necessary to accomplish
this laudable goal. Existing materials are often ‘‘preparer’’ driven in that they
focus on the creation of financial reports only. Students are often discouraged
in their use of computers in the first accounting course because of the confusing
and complicated accounting software manuals …

Microsoft Computer Dictionary 5th Edition

The Microsoft Computer Dictionary, Fifth Edition is designed to be a comprehensive and authoritative source of definitions for computer-related terms and abbreviations. The dictionary includes terms drawn from a wide variety of topics relevant to computer users, including software, hardware, networking, data storage, graphics, games, information processing, the Internet and the World Wide Web, gaming, history, jargon and slang, organizations, programming, and standards. Although this book covers nearly every aspect of computing, it does not include entries on most companies or on most makes and models of computers, nor does it contain entries on most application software products. The few exceptions to this rule of thumb are key companies and products that have a historical or universal importance within the computing industry. This dictionary emphasizes terminology that the average computer user will encounter in documentation, online help, computer manuals, marketing and sales materia…

Gul-Panra by Badshah room

a very interesting book in pashto language, read and enjoy. we are trying to upload as many books of pashto language as possible. but the real sorrow is this that there is a very small quantity of pashto readers.
a very interesting philosopy is lying in each line of this book.

“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.”
― John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! -- When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”

Paradise on Fire Syed Ali Geelani and the Struggle for Freedom in Kashmir

When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in, he has no choice but to become
an outlaw. —Nelson Mandela
PEACE IS A universal human yearning. Every society and every people need peace in order to flourish and to develop their resources, both individually and nationally. Nor is peace the mere absence of war. For peace of heart, mind and society can only exist when accompanied by the weighty presence of justice.
This book, then, is the story of one man’s self-sacrifice told through the struggle of an entire
people. Paradise on Fire is a call to the conscience of humanity. I pray that people from every part of the world will respond to this call and join the Kashmiri people in their non-violent resistance to oppression and occupation.

Learn Python the hard way by Zed A. Shaw

Python is a widely used high-level, general-purpose, interpreted, dynamic programming language.

This simple book is meant to get you started in programming. The title says it’s the hard way to learn to write code, but it’s actually not. It’s only the “hard” way because it uses a technique called instruction. Instruction is where I tell you to do a sequence of controlled exercises designed to build a skill through repetition. This technique works very well with beginners who know nothing and need to acquire basic skills before they can understand more complex topics. It’s used in everything from martial arts to music to even basic math and reading skills.

This book instructs you in Python by slowly building and establishing skills through techniques like practice and memorization, then applying them to increasingly diffi cult problems. By the end of the book, you will have the tools needed to begin learning more complex programming topics. I like to tell people that my book gives you your…

sustainable products for business and home use (from energy efficient bulbs to electric vehicle conversion referrals). The Pathan(English) By Khan Abdul Ghani Khan

This is the English version of Ghani Khan's book 'The Pathan'

The folk-songs of a nation are its spiritual self-portraits, provided the race is primitive enough to be honest. It is easy to be honest in feeling __ one cannot help it __ but extremely difficult to be so in the expression of it, specially as men become civilized. When custom begins to dictate to instinct, when the eyes look more at the listeners than the face of the beloved, that is time when convention overcomes music, ethics overcome passion, and desire is substituted for love. So if you find the Pathan folk-songs too brutal and naked direct, do not forget that he lives a straight and primitive life in a lonely valley or small village, and is too busy worrying about the next thing to shoot, to find time to be civilized. Let us go to his valley in Dir. There he is__ walking towards us, of medium height and sensitive build. He has long locks, neatly oiled and combed, wrapped in a red silk kerchief which is twis…

The Pathan(Pashto) By Khan Abdul Ghani Khan.pdf

This is the Pashto translation of Ghani Khan’s book The Pathan, read online or download for free.
Some Text from the book     The most difficult part of writing is to know where to begin, just as the most difficult part of speaking is to know where to stop. Nothing is more irritating than a blank sheet of paper staring stupidly into your face when you arc bursting to write but cannot make up your mind how to set about it.    I want to talk about the Pathans, the people I love, which makes my task harder than ever. I want you to love them as I do. But the Pathan is not easy to love. He takes a lot of knowing. His is a most complicated simplicity. I want to bring him down from the peaks of Khyber and the fields of Hashnager face to face with you-in his torn clothes and grass shoes, his eyes full of manliness, laughter and the devil, and his head full of a childish and noble pride-the chief camouflage he uses to hide his poverty and want. Yes, I want to bring him to you and make him tal…

From BCCI to ISI by Abid Ullah Jan

ENTRAPMENT is the illegal and unsavory practice of luring someone into committing a crime, and then prosecuting him for it. Sometimes the entrapped person, organization, or state has no intention or knowledge of the committed crime. The target becomes a victim of a set-up by government agencies, criminal elements, or a collaboration of both, all intent on achieving unstated objectives. Various agencies within the U.S. Government have been using entrapment in diverse ways. “Frame-ups” in drug “conspiracies” are routine in the United States: there are literally thousands of drug-related conspiracy cases in the United States in which innocent people are implicated and punished. Arnold S. Trebach writes in his book, The Great Drug War: “In many of these cases, the DEA allowed some of its informants to traffic in drugs in exchange for turning in their friends and supplying other information. In too many cases, Gieringer claimed, DEA agents themselves directly engaged in trafficking.” Trapping…

Active and Passive Voice Made Easy by Afzal Anwar Mufti

Need of English The conditions under which English is taught in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) is not conducive toteaching and learning the language. Courses are taught without specific curricular objectives;English language teachers are not equipped with efficient pedagogical tools; most Englishlanguage teachers rely on obsolete teaching techniques; inappropriate textbooks are chosen toteach English as a Second Language; language teaching facilities are not equipped with audiovisual aids; the examination system is erroneous, as it falls short of measuring attainment; andthe education system is lacking an observation and feedback mechanism. It is a fact that despite studying English in schools and colleges for about 6-8 years, students, especially coming from rural backgrounds, are not able to communicate inEnglish with relative ease and success. Even in some areas where students use a regionallanguage as a first language  besides Pashto - and in such areas English becomes a thirdlanguage  - …

Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan

Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan is the undisputed hero of Pakistan's nuclear saga. Called "the father of the Islamic bomb," Dr. Khan pioneered and led Pakistan's effort to enrich uranium with gas centrifuges. In 1976 he took charge of the secretive Engineering Research Laboratories at Kahuta, now named the A.Q. Khan Research Laboratories in his honor, where he assembled the machinery and manpower it would take to produce weapon-grade uranium. Khan recruited scores of Pakistani scientists living abroad to work with him at Kahuta, boasting that "the scientists and engineers whom I recruited had never heard of a centrifuge, even though some of them were Ph.D.'s."

Understanding Islam

A Section From this Book

When someone converts to Islam, God forgives all of his previous sins and evil deeds. A man called Amr came to the Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w) and said: “Give me your right hand so that I may give you my pledge of loyalty.” The Prophet (s.a.w) stretched out his right hand. Amr withdrew his hand. The
Prophet (s.a.w) said: { What has happened to you, O Amr? } He replied: “I intend to lay down a condition.” The Prophet (s.a.w) asked: { What condition do you intend to put forward? } Amr said: “That God forgive my sins.” The Prophet said: { Didn’t you know that converting to Islam erases all previous sins? }

After converting to Islam, the person will be rewarded for his or her good and bad deeds according to the following saying of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) : { Your Lord, Who is blessed and exalted, is most merciful. If someone intends to do a good deed but does not do it, a good deed will be recorded for him. And
if he does do it, (a reward of) ten to se…

Computer Repair Service by Philip Spry - Lynn Spry

I love computers and have since I was in my early teens. Over the decades, I’ve watched them develop from giant clunky boxes with green screens to tiny works of art that project photo-realistic games on monitors the size of walls. I eagerly read each new issue of Byte and PC Magazine, waiting for the next breakthrough in hardware and software; it’s probably fair to classify me as a computer enthusiast. As a hobby, it’s relatively inexpensive.      Think about it — the most expensive desktop CPU in existence at any given time is usually a little more than $1,000. That’s it! Imagine having the ability to buy a Formula 1 race car engine and pop it into your car for less than the cost of cable TV for a year! Of course, engines don’t double in power every two years, but the ease and simplicity of computer upgrades have made most of us relative experts in working on our own systems. Six years ago I was in this position. I had built my own computers for years and was the guy everyone came to …

Vladimir Holan - Selected poems

Vladimir Holan was born in Prague in 1905. He spent his childhood in the rolling wooded countryside of central Bohemia but returned to Prague for his secondary schooling. In 1926 he published his first book of verse. For the next seven years he worked in a social insurance (pensions)officeand during this time published two further volumes of poetry. In 1929 he visited northern Italy; the fascination of its architecture, scenery and cultural past colours some of his later poetry. In 1933 he became editor of an arts review, Zivot (Life), but since 1940 has given all his time to writing. He has published more than twenty volumes of poetry, apart from various selections and anthologies, and four prose works, including Lemuria (1940), his diary of the years 1934-8.

Quantum Computing Explained by David McMohan

At the present time quantum computers are mostly theoretical constructs. However, it has been proved that in at least some cases quantum computation is much faster in principle than any done by classical computer. The most famous algorithm developed is Shor’s factoring algorithm, which shows that a quantum computer, if one could be constructed, could quickly crack the codes currently used to secure the world’s data. Quantum information processing systems can also do remarkable things not possible otherwise, such as teleporting the state of a particle from one place to another and providing unbreakable cryptography systems.
A classical computer has amemorymade up ofbits, where each bit is represented by either a one or a zero. A quantum computer maintains a sequence ofqubits. A single qubit can represent a one, a zero, or anyquantum superpositionof those twoqubit states; a pair of qubits can be in any quantum superposition of 4 states, and three qubits in any superposition of 8 states. …
