Review: Bulhe Shah

Kulyat e Bulhe Shah is a collection of poetry written by Baba Bulhe Shah, Syed Abdullah Shah Qadri, popularly known as Bulleh Shah, was a Mughal-era Punjabi Islamic philosopher and Sufi poet. His first spiritual teacher was Shah Inayat Qadiri, a Sufi murshid of Lahore.
Bulleh Shah lived after the Pashto Sufi poet Rahman Baba (1632–1706) and lived in the same period as Sindhi Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (1689–1752). His lifespan also overlapped with the Punjabi poet Waris Shah (1722–1798), of Heer Ranjha fame, and the Sindhi Sufi poet Abdul Wahab (1739–1829), better known by his pen name Sachal Sarmast. Amongst Urdu poets, Bulleh Shah lived 400 miles away from Mir Taqi Mir (1723–1810) of Agra.
Bulleh Shah practised the Sufi tradition of Punjabi poetry established by poets like Shah Hussain (1538–1599), Sultan Bahu (1629–1691), and Shah Sharaf (1640–1724).
The verse form Bulleh Shah primarily employed is the Kafi, popular in Punjabi and Sindhi poetry.

Review: A Paragraph from Book

When I first heard about ‘body language’ at a seminar in 1971, I became so excited about it that I wanted to learn more. The speaker told us about some of the research done by Professor Ray Birdwhistell at the University of Louisville, which had shown that more human communication took place by the use of gestures, postures, position and distances than by any other method. At that time I had been a commission salesman for several years and had undergone many long, intensive courses on selling techniques, but none of these courses had ever mentioned anything about the non-verbal aspects or implications of face-to-face encounters. My own investigations showed that little useful information was available on body language and, although libraries and universities had records of the studies done on it, most of this information consisted of closely set manuscripts and theoretical assumptions compiled in an objective manner by people who had little or no practical experience in dealing with other human beings. This does not mean that their work was not important; simply that most of it was too technical to have any practical application or use by a layman like myself.

Refugees Journey Book Review:

Seeking control over Burma, the British Empire went to war with the Burmese Empire in 1824. Two more wars followed. By 1885, Burma was under British control. It became a British colony in 1937.
Burma gained independence from Britain in 1948, and the military ruled the country. Ethnic groups battled each other for power and civil war began. Elections were held, but the military would not let a government be formed or take power. In 1989, the military changed the name of the country from Burma to Myanmar. In 2015, a new government came to power. Today, the government is not stable, and the military still has great power.
Imagine living in a country where fear is normal. You fear government soldiers, the police, and maybe even your next door neighbor. You might be scared of being attacked if you leave your home. That is what life is like for some people in Myanmar.
