Review: Fan e Mazmoon Nigari

Fan e Mazmoon Nigari is a best book for students, who want to improve their article writing skills, this book is written by Maulana Aftab Azhar Siddique.
An article is a piece of writing written for a large audience. The main motive behind writing an article is that it should be published in either newspapers or magazines or journals so as to make some difference to the world. It may be the topics of interest of the writer or it may be related to some current issues. The topic can either be serious or not-so-serious; Same goes for its tone and language.
An article is like a direct conversation with the reader. The exam question might tell you who your readers are. For example, the students at a school, or the people living in a town or people who are interested in sports. Everything you write must speak to that reader and engage their interest right from the first sentence.

In Pakistan, Pashto is spoken as a first language by about 35-40 million people – 15.42% of Pakistan's 208 million population. It is the main language of the Pashtun-majority regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan. It is also spoken in parts of Mianwali and Attock districts of the Punjab province and in Islamabad, as well as by Pashtuns who live in different cities throughout the country. Modern Pashto-speaking communities are found in the cities of Karachi and Hyderabad in Sindh.
Urdu and English are the two official languages of Pakistan. Pashto has no official status at the federal level. On a provincial level, Pashto is the regional language of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan. The primary medium of education in government schools in Pakistan is Urdu, but from 2014 onwards, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has placed more emphasis on English as the medium of instruction. English-medium private schools in Pashto-speaking areas, however, generally do not use Pashto.

Review: Countdown to College

Countdown TO College is a wonderful resource for parents and their children to help them through the critical time from the end of high school through the beginning of college. It provides a thorough guide, keen insights, and practical advice for navigating this important transition.”—Sanjeev R. Kulkarni, dean of the faculty, Princeton University
“Finally, an excellent book about the college-entry process after admissions! This book is unique because it recognizes how both students and parents have to understand and confront together every detail of college finances, academics, social life—in short, the college experience as a whole. With remarkable detail, Rinere describes what parents need to do and how prospective students should prepare for college. Her lucid and accessible prose clarifies the process by drawing our attention to issues we might never have considered. Rinere uses powerful anecdotes to explain exactly how carefully we need to plan for our children’s futures. In short, she demystifies college for students and parents. This book should be read by every parent of a prospective college student, but it is also especially important for first-generation and disadvantaged families.
Beautifully written, incredibly helpful, it will become widely read.”

professor of sociology, UC Berkeley

Pashtun culture  is based on Islam and Pashtunwali, which is an ancient way of life, as well as speaking of the Pashto language and wearing Pashtun dress. The culture of the Pashtun people is highlighted since at least the time of Herodotus (484–425 BC) or Alexander the Great, when he explored the Afghanistan and Pakistan region in 330 BC. The Pashtun culture has little outside influence, and, over the ages, has retained a great degree of purity.

Review: Abdul Qadir Khan Khattak

Da Abdul Qadir Khan Khattak Deevan consists of Abdul Qadir Khan Khattak pashto poetry, Abdul Qadir Khan the son of Khushhal Khan Khattak, and brother of Ashraf, was born in the year AD. 1652, and is the most eloquent writer and poet of all Khushhal’s sons, several of whom were poets of no mean ability.Although his father had little reason to he very partial towards his sons generally, on account of their very unnatural conduct, and unfaithfulness towards himself on too many occasions; yet, upon the whole, Abd-ul-KIadir appears to have been a favourite, and to have shared considerably in his father’s affection.

Abdul-Qadir was as good at the sword as at the pen; and in the battle with the Mughal troops at Kottah a place in the vicinity of the Peshawar district, the victory of the confederate Afghans was chiefly owing to the skill displayed by the poet on that occa-sion; and it was he also who led the assault against that fortress, which, after three hours of severe fighting, he captured. He after-wards distinguished himself, in like manner; in the war of Bangash, during which operations he was wounded; and the successes gained in the war were celebrated in his name. When his father abdicated the chieftainship of the tribe, and the sons were each struggling to supplant each other, and grasp the vacant authority, Abdul-Qadir did not hold back.
