Pashtun culture  is based on Islam and Pashtunwali, which is an ancient way of life, as well as speaking of the Pashto language and wearing Pashtun dress. The culture of the Pashtun people is highlighted since at least the time of Herodotus (484–425 BC) or Alexander the Great, when he explored the Afghanistan and Pakistan region in 330 BC. The Pashtun culture has little outside influence, and, over the ages, has retained a great degree of purity.

Review: Abdul Qadir Khan Khattak

Da Abdul Qadir Khan Khattak Deevan consists of Abdul Qadir Khan Khattak pashto poetry, Abdul Qadir Khan the son of Khushhal Khan Khattak, and brother of Ashraf, was born in the year AD. 1652, and is the most eloquent writer and poet of all Khushhal’s sons, several of whom were poets of no mean ability.Although his father had little reason to he very partial towards his sons generally, on account of their very unnatural conduct, and unfaithfulness towards himself on too many occasions; yet, upon the whole, Abd-ul-KIadir appears to have been a favourite, and to have shared considerably in his father’s affection.

Abdul-Qadir was as good at the sword as at the pen; and in the battle with the Mughal troops at Kottah a place in the vicinity of the Peshawar district, the victory of the confederate Afghans was chiefly owing to the skill displayed by the poet on that occa-sion; and it was he also who led the assault against that fortress, which, after three hours of severe fighting, he captured. He after-wards distinguished himself, in like manner; in the war of Bangash, during which operations he was wounded; and the successes gained in the war were celebrated in his name. When his father abdicated the chieftainship of the tribe, and the sons were each struggling to supplant each other, and grasp the vacant authority, Abdul-Qadir did not hold back.

Review: Borha aur Samandar

Borha aur Samandar is Urdu translation of Old man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. the urdu translated version is written by Shahid Hameed. Ernest Miller Hemingway (July 21, 1899 – July 2, 1961) was an American journalist, novelist, and short-story writer. His economical and understated style—which he termed the iceberg theory—had a strong influence on 20th-century fiction, while his adventurous lifestyle and his public image brought him admiration from later generations. Hemingway produced most of his work between the mid-1920s and the mid-1950s, and he won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954. He published seven novels, six short-story collections, and two non-fiction works. Three of his novels, four short story collections, and three non-fiction works were published posthumously. Many of his works are considered classics of American literature.
Shortly after the publication of The Old Man and the Sea (1952), Hemingway went on safari to Africa, where he was almost killed in two successive plane crashes that left him in pain or ill-health for much of the rest of his life. Hemingway maintained permanent residences in Key West, Florida (in the 1930s) and Cuba (in the 1940s and 1950s). In 1959, he bought a house in Ketchum, Idaho, where, in mid-1961, he shot himself in the head.

Review: Applied Statistics

Applied Statistics and Probability for Engineers is written by Douglas C. Montgomery, This is an introductory textbook for a first course in applied statistics and probability for undergraduate students in engineering and the physical or chemical sciences. These individuals play a significant role in designing and developing new products and manufacturing systems and processes, and they also improve existing systems. Statistical methods are an important tool in these activities because they provide the engineer with both descriptive and analytical methods for dealing with the variability in observed data. Although many of the methods we present are fundamental to statistical analysis in other disciplines, such as business and management, the life sciences, and the social sciences, we have elected to focus on an engineering-oriented audience. We believe that this approach will best serve students in engineering and the chemical/physical sciences and will allow them to concentrate on the many applications of statistics in these disciplines. We have worked hard to ensure that our examples and exercises are engineering- and science-based, and in almost all cases we have used examples of real data—either taken from a published source or based on our consulting experiences.

Review: Archetecture in 1990s

For economic, technological and historical reasons the period between 1985 and 1995 will be remembered as one of fundamental change in art and architecture. The 1980s were of course a time of economic excess, when "Golden Boys" ruled the financial markets, and record prices were paid even for insignificant work of art. Easy money and uncritical demand went hand in hand to boost construction and to encourage a closer link between a certain conciousness of fashion, and artistic and architectural creativity. This was all to end for reasons linked to such events as the october 1987 collapse of the New Yark stock market, or the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989. In a new climate of doubt and economic restrictions, architecture would be obliged to take New Forms.
