Review: About Qamar Jalalvi

Rashk e Qamar is a poetry collection by the most polpular Urdu poet Qamar Jalavi, Qamar born as Muhammad Husain and also known as Ustad Qamar Jalalvi was a renowned Pakistani poet. He was born in Jalali near Aligarh, India in 1887, and died on 4 October 1968. After the creation of Pakistan in 1947, he moved to Karachi.
Qamar Jalalvi is regarded as one of the best classical Urdu Ghazal poets. His ghazal poetry has unique simplicity of expression.
A poet from the age of eight, Qamar Jalalvi's writing had become quite popular by the time he was in his 20s.
He lived a life of financial hardship working for many years at bicycle repair shops. In India and Pakistan, a teacher of arts is known as Ustad (master), and the term is also loosely used to refer to any kind of skilled worker. Qamar Jalalvi was initially called Ustad because of his bicycle work. Popular with critics, for his mastery of poetry as well, they dubbed him Ustad Qamar Jalalvi, once his poetry became popular.
Ustad Qamar Jalalvi died in Karachi, Pakistan on 4 October 1968.

Review: Tanha Tanha

Tanha Tanha is a collection of Urdu poetry by  Ahmad Faraz, Faraz was a Pakistani Urdu poet. He was widely known as one of the best modern Urdu poets of the last century. Faraz was his pen name. He died in Islamabad on 25 August 2008. He was awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Imtiaz and posthumously the Hilal-e-Pakistan by the Government of Pakistan.

Kulyat e Bulhe Shah is a collection of poetry written by Baba Bulhe Shah, Syed Abdullah Shah Qadri, popularly known as Bulleh Shah, was a Mughal-era Punjabi Islamic philosopher and Sufi poet. His first spiritual teacher was Shah Inayat Qadiri, a Sufi murshid of Lahore.
Bulleh Shah lived after the Pashto Sufi poet Rahman Baba (1632–1706) and lived in the same period as Sindhi Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (1689–1752). His lifespan also overlapped with the Punjabi poet Waris Shah (1722–1798), of Heer Ranjha fame, and the Sindhi Sufi poet Abdul Wahab (1739–1829), better known by his pen name Sachal Sarmast. Amongst Urdu poets, Bulleh Shah lived 400 miles away from Mir Taqi Mir (1723–1810) of Agra.
Bulleh Shah practised the Sufi tradition of Punjabi poetry established by poets like Shah Hussain (1538–1599), Sultan Bahu (1629–1691), and Shah Sharaf (1640–1724).
The verse form Bulleh Shah primarily employed is the Kafi, popular in Punjabi and Sindhi poetry.

Khud Kalami is a collection of urdu poetry by Parveen Shakir, Parveen (24 November 1952 – 26 December 1994) was an Urdu poet, teacher and a civil servant of the Government of Pakistan.
Parveen started writing at an early age and published her first volume of poetry, Khushbu [Fragrance], to great acclaim, in 1976. She subsequently published other volumes of poetry – all well-received – Sad-barg [Marsh Marigold] in 1980, Khud Kalami [Soliloquy] and Inkar[Denial] in 1990, Kaf e Aina [The Mirror's Edge] besides a collection of her newspaper columns, titled Gosha-e-Chashm [The Sight Corner], and was awarded one of Pakistan's highest honours, the Pride of Performance for her outstanding contribution to literature. The poetry books are collected in the volume Mah e Tamam [Full Moon] with the exception of Kaf e Aina.Parveen died in 1994 in a car accident while on her way to work.
