Review: Adam Khan Durkhaney

Da Adam Khan Ao Durkhaney da Meeney Qissa is written by Maulvi Ahmad Tangi and M.Hussain Majrooh. Adam Khan and Durkhanai's story is believed to be the classic romance of Pashto.
Kept alive through written and and oral tradition the story has been passed from generation to generation. Adam Khan was from Kooza (lower) Bazdara and Durkhanai was from Upper Bazdara. Adam Khan the son of Hasan Khan was a very handsome young man and by all accounts seems to have been a spoiled young man who had nothing better to do than walk around his village with his friends.
Durkhanai daughter of Taus Khan was an extra ordinarily beautiful young woman who was very intelligent to boot. Not having a son Taus Khan showed incredible open mindedness for his times when he indulged his daughter by providing her learned tutors who schooled her in all there was to learn. She did obey local custom and culture by keeping strict purdah, not only would she be veiled but also took the step of sitting behind a screen and having an elderly servant sit there to chaperon them at all times.
This book contains two versions of the storey, prose and poem, read and enjoy.

Review: Kheyaluna Ao Fikruna

Kheyaluna Ao Fikruna is a collection of heart touching Pashto Poetry, Kheyaluna Ao Fikruna is written by Muhammad Tariq Sahar.
M.Tariq Sahar is a great poet of pashto literature, this book Khyalona ao Fikrona is the fifth poetry collection of Sahar. Poetry, poem or verse is a voice of the poet's heart, is a glimpse of the personality and environment of the poet, in short it is the autobiography of the poets sorroundings. Poetry uses forms and conventions to suggest differential interpretation to words, or to evoke emotive responses. Devices such as assonance, alliteration, onomatopoeia and rhythm are sometimes used to achieve musical or incantatory effects. The use of ambiguity, symbolism, irony and other stylistic elements of poetic diction often leaves a poem open to multiple interpretations. Similarly, figures of speech such as metaphor, simile and metonymy create a resonance between otherwise disparate images—a layering of meanings, forming connections previously not perceived. Kindred forms of resonance may exist, between individual verses, in their patterns of rhyme or rhythm.
Tariq sahar is not a new poet, he is an old and experienced poet, he loves human beings.

In Pakistan, around 38 million people speak Pashto, according to the 2017 census, which is over 15% of Pakistan's population. Most of these people are in the northwestern areas of the country, comprising Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan. There are also many Pashtun speakers in the major cities of Pakistan.
Other communities of Pashto speakers are found in Tajikistan, and further in the Pashtun diaspora. There are also communities of part Pashtun descent in India, including Bollywood families and Indian Film Cinema such as Khans. They are integrated into Indian languages, hold mixed races, ethnicities, religions and culture and do not hold cultural reverence to the ethnicity or their origins. Pashtuns are of ancient Iranian origin and lived in Afghanistan years before other ethnic groups in Afghanistan.

In Pakistan, Pashto is spoken as a first language by about 35-40 million people – 15.42% of Pakistan's 208 million population. It is the main language of the Pashtun-majority regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan. It is also spoken in parts of Mianwali and Attock districts of the Punjab province and in Islamabad, as well as by Pashtuns who live in different cities throughout the country. Modern Pashto-speaking communities are found in the cities of Karachi and Hyderabad in Sindh.
Urdu and English are the two official languages of Pakistan. Pashto has no official status at the federal level. On a provincial level, Pashto is the regional language of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan. The primary medium of education in government schools in Pakistan is Urdu, but from 2014 onwards, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has placed more emphasis on English as the medium of instruction. English-medium private schools in Pashto-speaking areas, however, generally do not use Pashto.

Pashtun culture  is based on Islam and Pashtunwali, which is an ancient way of life, as well as speaking of the Pashto language and wearing Pashtun dress. The culture of the Pashtun people is highlighted since at least the time of Herodotus (484–425 BC) or Alexander the Great, when he explored the Afghanistan and Pakistan region in 330 BC. The Pashtun culture has little outside influence, and, over the ages, has retained a great degree of purity.

Review: Abdul Qadir Khan Khattak

Da Abdul Qadir Khan Khattak Deevan consists of Abdul Qadir Khan Khattak pashto poetry, Abdul Qadir Khan the son of Khushhal Khan Khattak, and brother of Ashraf, was born in the year AD. 1652, and is the most eloquent writer and poet of all Khushhal’s sons, several of whom were poets of no mean ability.Although his father had little reason to he very partial towards his sons generally, on account of their very unnatural conduct, and unfaithfulness towards himself on too many occasions; yet, upon the whole, Abd-ul-KIadir appears to have been a favourite, and to have shared considerably in his father’s affection.

Abdul-Qadir was as good at the sword as at the pen; and in the battle with the Mughal troops at Kottah a place in the vicinity of the Peshawar district, the victory of the confederate Afghans was chiefly owing to the skill displayed by the poet on that occa-sion; and it was he also who led the assault against that fortress, which, after three hours of severe fighting, he captured. He after-wards distinguished himself, in like manner; in the war of Bangash, during which operations he was wounded; and the successes gained in the war were celebrated in his name. When his father abdicated the chieftainship of the tribe, and the sons were each struggling to supplant each other, and grasp the vacant authority, Abdul-Qadir did not hold back.

Ya Pekhawara pa tha sa shwe de Review:

Peshawar was known in Sanskrit as Puruṣapura , literally meaning "city of men". It also found mention in the Zend Avesta as , the seventh most beautiful place on earth created by Ahura Mazda It was known as the "crown jewel" of Bactria and also held sway over Takshashila (modern Taxila). Being among the most ancient cities of the region between Central and South Asia, Peshawar has for centuries been a center of trade between Bactria, South Asia and Central Asia. As an ancient center of learning, the 2nd century BC. Bakhshali Manuscript used in the Bakhshali approximation was found nearby.
Vedic mythology refers to an ancient settlement called Pushkalavati in the area, after Pushkal, presently known as Charsadda.  In recorded history, the earliest major city established in the general area of Peshawar was called Puruṣapura (Sanskrit for City of Men), from which the current name "Peshawar" is likely derived and was western capital of Ghandhara civilization after Pushkalavati.
After the incidence of 9/11 a flood of destruction came in this city of flowers and thousands of millions flower like humans burnt in bomb blasts, this poetry book reaveals that facts.

Pashto-speakers have long had a tradition of oral literature, including proverbs, stories, and poems. Written Pashto literature saw a rise in development in the 17th century mostly due to poets like Khushal Khan Khattak (1613–1689), who, along with Rahman Baba (1650–1715), is widely regarded as among the greatest Pashto poets. From the time of Ahmad Shah Durrani (1722–1772), Pashto has been the language of the court. The first Pashto teaching text was written during the period of Ahmad Shah Durrani by Pir Mohammad Kakerr with the title of Ma'refa al-Afghāni (“Introduction of Afghani [Pashto]”). After that, the first grammar book of Pashto verbs was written in 1805 in India under the title of Riāz al-Muhabat(“Training in Affection”) through the patronage of Nawab Mohabat Khan, son of Hafiz Rahmat Khan, chief of the Barech. Nawabullah Yar Khan, another son of Hafiz Rahmat Khan, in 1808 wrote a book of Pashto words entitled Ajāyeb al-Lughat("Wonders of Languages").
