Review: Asrar-e-Khudi

Asrar-e-Khudi or The Secrets of the Self; published in Persian, (1915) was the first philosophical poetry book of Allama Iqbal, the great poet-philosopher of Pakistan. This book deals mainly with the individual, while his second book Ramooz e Bekhudi discusses the interaction between the individual and society.
In Asrar-e-Khudi, Iqbal has explained his philosophy of "Khudi," or "Self." Iqbal' s use of term "Khudi" is synonymous with the word of "Rooh" as mentioned in the Quran. "Rooh" is that divine spark which is present in every human being and was present in Adam for which God ordered all of the angels to prostrate in front of Adam.
However, one has to make a great journey of transformation to realize that divine spark which Iqbal calls "Khudi". A similitude of this journey could be understood by the relationship of fragrance and seed. Every seed has the potential for fragrance within it. But to reach its fragrance the seed must go through all the different changes and stages. First breaking out of its shell. Then breaking the ground to come into the light developing roots at the same time. Then fighting against the elements to develop leaves and flowers. Finally reaching its pinnacle by attaining the fragrance that was hidden within it

Review: Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet belongs to a tradition of tragic romances stretching back to antiquity. The plot is based on an Italian tale translated into verse as The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet by Arthur Brooke in 1562, and retold in prose in Palace of Pleasure by William Painter in 1567. Shakespeare borrowed heavily from both, but expanded the plot by developing a number of supporting characters, particularly Mercutio and Paris. Believed to have been written between 1591 and 1595, the play was first published in a quarto version in 1597. The text of the first quarto version was of poor quality, however, and later editions corrected the text to conform more closely with Shakespeare's original.
Shakespeare's use of his poetic dramatic structure (especially effects such as switching between comedy and tragedy to heighten tension, his expansion of minor characters, and his use of sub-plots to embellish the story) has been praised as an early sign of his dramatic skill. The play ascribes different poetic forms to different characters, sometimes changing the form as the character develops. Romeo, for example, grows more adept at the sonnet over the course of the play.

Review: Oxford Practice Grammar with Answers

Oxford Practice Grammar with Answers is a complete advance level english grammar book.this  book consists of 153 units, each on a grammatical topic. The units cover the main areas of English grammar. Special attention is given to those points which are often a problem for learners: the meaning of the different verb forms, the use of the passive, conditionals, prepositions and so on. Many units contrast two or more different structures such as the present perfect and past simple (Units 14-15). There are also a number of review units. The emphasis through the whole book is on the meaning and use of the forms in situations. Most units start with a dialogue, or sometimes a text, which shows how the forms are used in a realistic context.
There are also 25 tests. These come after each group of units and cover the area of grammar dealt with in those units. Each unit consists of an explanation of the grammar point followed by a number of exercises. Almost all units cover two pages. The explanations are on the left-hand page, and the exercises are on the right-hand page. There are a few four-page units, with two pages of explanation and two pages of exercises.

About the Author:

Tip: What's the best way to learn grammar?

It is usually more effective to look at examples of English rather than to read
statements about it. The explanations of grammar in this book are descriptions ofhow English works; they are a guide to help you understand, not 'rules' to be
memorized. The important thing is the language itself. If you are learning about the present perfect continuous, for example, it is helpful to memorize a sentence like We've been waiting here for twenty minutes and to imagine a situation at a bus stop like the one in Unit 16A. The explanation - that the action happens over a period of time lasting up to the present - is designed to help towards an understanding of the grammar point. It is not intended that you should write it down or memorize it.
Active learning will help you more than passive reading, so it is important
to do the exercises and to check your answers. Another way of actively learning grammar is to write down sentences you see or hear which contain examples of the grammar you are studying. You may come across such sentences in English books or newspapers, on television or on the Internet. You may meet English speakers. For example, someone may ask you How long have you been living here? Later you could note down this sentence as a useful example of the present perfect continuous

Pukhto poetry lovers were still in the welcoming phase for ghurzangoona and were enjoying its quality and taste that Abaseen launched his second collection which is much higher in theme and force than GHORZANGOONA. In the collection under-review, the subject of Pukhtun nationalism is very prominent and the sufferings Pukhtuns went through in the last three decades have not only been addressed and discussed but gives a new turn to Abaseen's poetry.

Abaseen Yousafzai is a well-known pashto poet, scholor and critic. He is not only a man of sweet words but also a man of wonderful character and charesmatic personlity. When one meets him for the first time he gets the feelings that he has been known to Abaseen for ages, because he will pour his love and would make one at home with him all the times.

Quran Majeed with Pashto Translation Review:

Quran Majeed with Pashto Translation is a Pashto Translation of the holy Quran,Quran Majeed with Pashto Translation free pdf file available at Peshawar Library, the No.1 Virtual Library.  The word "Qur'an" is Arabic for "recitation".  Indeed one of the many things that make the Qur'an unique is that it claims to be the literal speech of Allah.  Muslims believe that the Qur'an was dictated to Prophet Muhammad, may Allah’s peace be upon him (or pbuh for short), by Allah Almighty through the angel Gabriel over 1,400 years ago.  The Qur'an was not revealed all at once but rather gradually over a period of 23 years during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).  It may surprise readers to learn that the Qur'an contains the same core message as other divinely revealed Scriptures, such as the Torah of Moses and Gospel of Jesus (peace be upon them) and Muslims believe that in their original form, these previous Scriptures were also sent from Allah.  The Qur'an informs us that Muhammad (pbuh) is the final Messenger in a long line of Messengers that Allah sent before him, such as Abraham, Moses and Jesus.  This is another of the unique aspects of the Qur'an; it acknowledges all of the Abrahamic faiths and all of the Prophets sent by Allah.

Review: Da Ghani Kulliyat

Da Ghani Kulliyat is a collection of three books of Ghani Khan, Da Panjrey Chaghar, Panoos and Palwashey.Da Ghani Kulliyat free pdf is available at Peshawar Library, the No.1 Virtual Library.
Love for Ghani Khan is the divine gift of God. It is far more superior to beauty because physical beauty is mortal and would perish while the spirit of love is immortal. The beauty of the beloved is essential but it is the passion of the lover which makes love eternal.
Aside from a few poems of his youth and early manhood, Ghani Khan’s poetry, like his temperament, is anti-political. His poem collections include Panoos, Palwashay, De Panjray Chaghar, Kulliyat and Latoon. He also wrote in English; his first book was The Pathans (1947). His only published work in Urdu was his book titled Khan Sahib (1994).
He describes his “Beloved” in this manner.
Eyes, two in love,
Load with scores of vision bright
Enriched my universe with Eye-appealing flowers,
Giving in this world a draught of wine of Paradise.
Loading my dreams with life,
flooding life of mine with dreams Handfuls and handfuls of lustrous moon’s white
Lightning you splashed and sprinkled devotedly into my feet.
You showed me God, the Almighty, Hidden in Love deeds.
And threw heaps of stars in to shallow apron of mine.
I hear nymphs’ hustle bustle in your shining beauty
You showed me God, the Almighty, hidden in Love deeds.
